Mesa Police Support Texting Crime Tips

The Mesa, Arizona police department just implemented a system that allows citizens to send text message crime tips. The new system not only allows residents to text the police department with information on crimes, including pictures or videos, but citizens can sign up and receive crime alerts for specific neighborhoods. Chief Cascon said, “It’s intended to join the community and police . . . . Public safety is a joint effort. It’s a joint responsibility.”
