Change Your Passwords

Government Technology just published the story of a Maine OIT employee who recently had a run in with a password bandit. The bandit obtained the victim’s password for one website, and because the victim used the same password on other sites, the bandit was able to access the victim’s PayPal account and steal over $400.

This story is a sobering reminder to make sure that every password we use on the internet is unique. Read the full story, including the details about how the hacker was able to get the password, here.
